Hi I’m Lee Smith or Shutterchip Photography. I live in the North East of England. I was born and raised in a little village on the coast called Whitburn. Living in such a beautiful location, gave me an interest in Photography from an early age. I am now a full time photographer after over 20 years experience working with adolescents and adults coping with disabilities, addiction, depression, mental health issues and supporting patients back into the community.
As well as photography I am a family man, I live with my wife Leanne, sons Luke and Jake and daughter Olivia and my photography companion Jessie the dog !
I established my photography business about 10 years ago while working as a residential officer, a friend asked me to shoot her wedding day for her, although a bit nervous at first to do so, because of the responsibility that it brings; I said Yes, it led me to where I am today. I found that I enjoyed the day so much I decided to put more time into my wedding photography and can honestly say I have never looked back.
Experience over the years has allowed me to identify the key factors I like to focus on while taking photographs; fun, stress free, good preparation and most important of all listening to my clients needs.
In my free time I like to spend a lot of time walking with Jessie and this allows for lots of photo opportunities I have a particular interest in Street Art, Abstract and Fine Art Photography.
Since leaving my post as a residential officer, I have been training to become a Mindful and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Coach. This will allow me and Shutterchip Photography to offer Mindfulness Meditation with Photography Workshops. Discovering, how expressive photography can work hand in hand to help you form a deeper relationship with yourself and your world allowing you to create images of personal meaning.
